CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD: Colombia.

We're still knowing our place and time, so this time children are investigating about Christmas traditions. All school are doing the same, but fourth graders must search Christmas in Colombia. As every celebration in Latin America, Christmas is full of happiness because it mixes religion and party.

Kids should tell how people in Colombia celebrate Christmas.

  3. The country colombia is located in northwestern South America, bordered to the northwest by Panama;

    The official language of Colombia is Spanish,

    Christmas in Columbia is actually celebrated through the month of December. It starts with a celebration honoring the virgin Mary and ends with a Christmas Eve mass followed

    "Natilla." We make it with cinnamon, corn starch, milk, "panela" a hard sweetener from sugar cane, and cloves.

    "Buñuelos" or cheesy fritters, "arepas" a thick corn mass, "empanadas," "hojuelas" a fried dough pastry with sugar and jam are amongst the favorite munchies.
